Patreon is a membership platform that allows you to support Hazel financially - most of our funding comes from you. This funding allows us to continue working on Hazel and expand our team. Whilst Hazel 2D will always be freely available on GitHub, Hazel itself (the complete engine) is only accessible by Patreon supporters.

How do I get access to Hazel?

You need to have a Supporter III (or higher) membership level on Patreon to get access to Hazel. You can become a Patron here.

Once you are an active Patron, send your GitLab username to our Patreon page via a private message. Once we've received your message, we'll give your GitLab account access and let you know. Please note this can take up to a week - if it's been a week since you messaged us and you haven't heard anything back, please send us another message, we must have missed it!

How long does it take to get access?

Up to a week. Yan goes through all messages himself and will reply to you once access has been granted. If it's been more than a week and you still haven't received a reply to your Patreon message, please send another one.

I'm a Patron, how do I get my role on The Cherno Discord server?
You'll need to connect your Discord account to Patreon, and the appropriate Discord role should be automatically assigned to you. If you find this doesn't work or stops working for some reason, try disconnecting and reconnecting your account. More details here.
Why do I have to be a supporter to access Hazel?
Your support is what keeps this project going - if there was no financial support from the community, then we wouldn't be able to hire anyone to spend significant time on the project. It only costs a few cups of coffee per month (in most regions) to be enough of a supporter to get access to Hazel, and we have no plans to raise this cost as the engine grows.
